If you’re like me, you’re somewhat of a trend hunter. I’ve always been fascinated by trends and trying to identify them early, before everyone else jumps on board. Not so easy, is it?

Knowing what’s trending is especially important if you’re a writer or marketer. Unless you’re aware of the trends, you may end up writing about old news. Following and spotting trends early keeps you on the cutting edge.

So, what are some ways to zero in on what’s trending?

X (formerly Twitter) Lists

Twitter has lost some of its sparkle since Elon Musk took over and rebranded it as X. But lists are still a useful tool to create lists of industry leaders, influencers, and other people on the cutting edge.

For example, create a “Fintech” list if you want to track key players in financial technology. You can also create a private list with your competitors so you can monitor what they’re doing.
