For years, you may have heard that salt and sodium are a major contributor to high blood pressure. But, the evidence that eating a diet high in sodium is a major contributor to hypertension is weakening. In fact, studies show that low-sodium diets don’t lower blood pressure for the majority of the population and may even be detrimental for some.
