I have this problem myself. Reading about what's happening in the world brings me down a lot. You feel their pain but are helpless to do anything about it. You make a great poin!

Empaths have to establish boundaries to safeguard their emotional well-being and prevent burnout. Like a sponge that soaks up the emotions of others, empaths can easily become overwhelmed by the intense feelings they absorb from people and even the news.
