I think the concept of a brane universe is intriguing - Ou universe could be one of many "branes" floating in an extra-dimensional space. Particularly intriguing is the possibility that branes occasionally collide and create a new Big Bang event. It's a mind-bending theory and shows how much more we need to learn about the universe. :-)
