I've often wondered why they haven't considered the social implications of AI - the potential for massive job losses as AI takes over tasks that human beings do now. Also, the potential for creative types, like artists and designers, to have their livelihood stolen by AI generated art.
I see Musk's point in some respects. It's true that we shouldn't live in fear, but I think we need to consider the damage that unrestrained AI can inflict on society.
