Locked in syndrome sounds like a true nightmare. I think they're trying to use electrical stimulation to try to restore paralyzed muscle but I don't know how high the success rate is. A rare, but tragic, condition. Agree that loneliness is a huge issue and becoming and even bigger one due to the pandemic.
