Love it that you put rescue animals on the list. That's exactly what I'm doing in my retirement years. Stick to the basics - whole foods, stress management, more movement (especially outdoors), and get 7+ hours of sleep .Doing those things makes the journey easier. See it as a challenge. You still have so much more to give to the world!
