Where are you now? If you’re like me, you might be sitting in front of your computer screen, scrolling through the news or planning what’s for dinner. (Hopefully, it’s something healthy)
But there’s something concerning happening in the halls of power and it should concern us all. If you think about the implications, it should make your spine tingle.
The CDC — yes, that CDC — just dropped a bomb that would make George Orwell spill his tea.
The Words They Don’t Want You to Say
Before I reveal more, envision this in your mind as you wind down at the end of a long day; You’re a dedicated scientist. And you’ve spent 20 years serving others by conducting medical research.
One morning, you open up your email and see a message that stops you dead in your tracks. Your eyes widen as you absorb its contents.
It tells you that you can no longer use certain words to describe your research or in the papers that you publish.
These words include “gender,” “transgender,” or “LGBTQ. But it doesn’t stop there. Other words that are on the chopping block include:
- pregnant person
- transsexual
- non-binary
- biologically male
- biologically female
